Alcoa Executive to Discuss Nanotechnology’s Role in Industry at Rusnanotech ‘09

NEW YORK–Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Dr. Mohammad A. Zaidi, executive
vice president and chief technology officer – Alcoa, will discuss the
role of nanotechnology in industry at Rusnanotech ’09, second
international nanotechnology forum held in Moscow on Oct. 6.

Dr. Zaidi will deliver his speech and take part in the panel discussion,
“Nanotechnology in Manufacturing,” from 3 to 6:45 p.m. MSD tomorrow in
Hall 3 of the Moscow Central Exhibition Complex Expocentre.

In his speech, Dr. Zaidi will discuss the massive potential
nanotechnology brings to industry and will outline some of the
applications that Alcoa is pursuing for markets such as aerospace,
ground transportation, oil & gas, packaging, building & construction and
energy.

“Nanotechnology will provide us with new products and production systems
that can proliferate exponentially because nanotechnology offers
fundamental, science-based changes that can be transformational,” Dr.
Zaidi said.
