Vitaliy Rusakov is President of Howmet Fastening Systems. Fastening Systems produces aerospace and industrial fasteners, latches, bearings, fluid fittings and installation tools. A leading producer of highly engineered aerospace fasteners with a broad range of fastening systems, the segment also supplies the commercial transportation, renewable, and material handling industries. The business’s high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment. Mr. Rusakov is a member of the Howmet Aerospace Foundation Board of Directors, the Executive Council of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, and the California Manufacturers & Technology Association Board of Directors. Previously, Vitaliy served as Chief Operating Officer for Arconic Engineered Products and Solutions.

From February 2010 until October 2016, Vitaliy served as Business Unit President of Alcoa Fastening Systems and Rings, a premier supplier of fastening systems and seamless rolled jet engine rings for aerospace and commercial customers worldwide. The business unit also included the rings division, integrated into the fastening systems business following the Firth Rixson acquisition in November 2014.

Vitaliy began his career in the fastening business in 1998, when he joined Fairchild Fasteners continuous improvement organization following a summer internship program. After Alcoa Inc. (which was renamed Arconic Inc. in November 2016) acquired Fairchild Fasteners in 2002, Vitaliy led the integration of the North America manufacturing and global logistics organizations into Alcoa. He later became President and General Manager for Alcoa Fastening Systems North America Aerospace Fasteners operations.

Earlier in his career in Ukraine, Vitaliy held consulting roles with Bain and Company, a global management consulting firm.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Education from Kiev University of Linguistics and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics from Kiev University of Economics. He obtained his MBA degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. He is also an alumnus of INSEAD School of Business.
